Dahlia Burst ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today I have a lovely card to share with you that I created for my nephew (and of course his new bride) on their wedding day.  I had no idea what their colors were so I went with a blue dahlia.  I wanted it to be pretty, but not a bright pink or something.  You know what I mean, right? :)

I stamped the dahlia five times and cut parts of it out starting with the very middle budding area and kept doing the same thing keeping more of the petals each time until I had the full flower.  I colored each of the layers using Journey Color Burst Pencils...I LOVE using them!  They show beautiful and vibrant colors!  I also used the Heart Film Die Set for the heart.  I believe this will be out in the new Inspiration catalog this summer.  I received it at Leadership in January and this is the first time I used it.  Glad I was digging through my dies and saw this one. I had forgotten about, but an idea popped into my head and I finally knew how I was going to finish the card. :)

Best Wishes ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Happy Thursday, Everyone!  I have another card to show you today that the ladies made at my September stamp a stacks.  Thanks to my great upline I was able to make this card.  I had the stamp set, but only a few Fun Stampers Journey ink pads at the time and just a bit of paper too.  She invited me over and I made this at her house.  She also let me borrow what I needed for my stamp a stacks. :)  How awesome is that!

This is definitely more of a spring colored card, but I thought it was so pretty so I went with it. :)  It could be used for a wedding or birthday card I think.

It was pretty easy to create this card.  I just embossed the flowers with white embossing powder on Butter Cream card stock and on a separate piece I embossed the Eiffel Tower.  Using the sponges I rubbed the leaves with Sweet Pear ink and the flowers and tower with Bubble Gum.  The only "kind of" time consuming part was cutting out the tower...and there's actually a die for it! lol Whoops...guess I need to think about getting that!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

FM - Love & Laughter

It's always nice to have a few shower cards around so when I need them I have them.  Yeah, I usually don't! lol  That's why I'm using the Friday Mashup challenge to get at least one card ahead. :)  This week's challenge is to create a project with the colors Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate & Crushed Curry, create a project with a cake, or mash them together and create a project with a cake and the four colors.  I have to say I always have a hard time putting these colors together so I added the extra bling of dazzling diamonds to make it sparkle a little. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Whoo is getting married?!

Well, today's card is definitely not my norm, but I needed to whip up something for my daughter's friend who is getting married today...and I can't even be there!  And since she loves owls I had to make them on her card. :)  I wish them many years of happiness together.!

Love & Laughter

Today I have a couple of small and simple cards that I made for a couple of bridal showers going on at church.  I try to make them in colors that match what they are using in their wedding, but sometimes it's just a guess. :)

This pic shows the color and sparkle a bit better than the other one.

Happy Wedding Day!

Today's card is a wedding card for a friend from church who is getting married today...so happy for her!  She said her wedding bouquet is going to have calla lilies in it, so that's what I decided to put on her wedding card (boy, I really hope she said calla lilies! lol).  I'm sure hers are all white, but I also know her wedding color is a deep purple, so I decided to make the lily white and purple...and keep the card just those two colors.  When trying to figure out how to make the calla lily I had a great time looking at all the different kinds out there.  Wow, I couldn't believe all of the different shapes, sizes and colors!  They are such beautiful flowers!  Any card isn't complete without a design, and the wonderful design for my card is from the Paper Craft Crew card sketch challenge.  Check out their blog here.

Here are a few more pics because I couldn't decide on just one. lol

RHSSC - Forever & Always

Today's Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge turned into a wedding card.  I was working ahead for the challenge (which I rarely do!) and realized I never made a card for my niece's wedding that I had coming up.  Well, it quickly turned into a card with her wedding colors on it.  I loved how it turned out...and it could be used for a lot of other types of cards too.  To see a few more cards from the Red Hot Stampers sketch challenge click here. I decided to also enter this into the Less Is More challenge also after seeing it goes perfectly with this week's theme...the colors blue and green.

Forever & Always

Today's card is one of the last of eight cards/projects that I came up with using the Delicate Doilies Sizzlets Die.  I couldn't wait to post this one because it's one of my favorites. lol  Anyway, I had decided cut the blue doily out, put heat and stick powder on it, then dazzling diamonds to see if I liked it.  I did like it, but didn't know what I was going to do with the piece so I set it aside.  I finally decided to put it with all white and make it into a wedding card.  I also said I had wanted to start doing some sketch challenges again and thought this card would be perfect for the SU-Only Fancy Frills challenge.

Paper Doily Die Day 4

Today is my final post using the Paper Doily Die.
I saved my favorite two cards for today, so here they are...
First is my Valentine's Day card.  I cut out three hearts using the new hearts framelits dies, and one doily to use behind the hearts...and, of course, lots of shimmer paint sprayed on it! :)

And for my last card I was wondering if there was any way I could use any part of the doily for the skirt of a wedding dress.  I finally found something that seemed to work just right.  I had to go all out for this one and use more than just the shimmer paint!  For the top of the dress and the doily part of the skirt I used heat and stick powder with dazzling diamonds.

I hope you've enjoyed my creations as much as I enjoyed making them (but I sure was glad to be done! lol).
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Happy Wedding Day

Today's card is for a wedding I just went to.  I made a white on white card pretty similar to this a little while ago, but this one I made square and added a touch of color so it would match the wedding colors.

Happy Wedding Day

Today's card is one that I've been thinking about for a couple of weeks.  I've always loved the white cards with just a touch of color on them, and I thought it would be a great idea to use for a wedding card for my nephew and his bride to be.  As I was looking around at different sketch challenges I found one that I thought would go great with what's been going through my mind...The Paper Players Challenge # 35.  Thank you, ladies, for your idea and your challenges.  This is the first one I am doing with the Paper Players. :)

I wanted the color I used to coordinate with their wedding colors, however I knew we did not have the color of ink I needed.  I ended up sponging Pacific Point around all the edges and then going over it with Wild Wasabi.  It was too green when I did that, so I carefully sponged back over it again with Pacific Point until the color matched the invitation.  Yes! I got it to match perfectly!

I got the idea for scoring the flower petals from this video here.  I'm not sure what her name its, but she makes beautiful flowers!  Thank you for the idea!
