Stampin' Up! ~ Penned & Painted with Sympathy

I don't know about anyone else, but for me making sympathy cards is the hardest when it comes to making cards.  I want to make sure the person or family I'm sending the card to knows that I truly care about them and what they're going through.  Since I am NOT a writer at all I have I hard time expressing my feelings, so I want the card to help in that area...and that's why I say sympathy cards are the hardest for me to make.

I almost forgot to take pictures of these cards , but managed to quickly snap a couple of pictures of the group.  I was taking off for a few days and needed to get them mailed out ASAP!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stampin' Up! ~ Simple Birthday Wishes

How about a clean and simple card today?  That's what I have to share with you.  We have a great sketch this week over at Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday and I followed this one pretty closely.  I don't usually do that, so it was nice to just follow along and create something delicate.  Yes, that word comes to mind because everything on this card is so tiny!  I haven't used this stamp set much...at least not the flowers, so it was nice to put a little ink on them.

Make sure you head over to Try Stampin' HERE to check out the other great cards using this week's sketch.  If you get a chance we'd love to have you play along!

I loved making this card.  Even though it's a CAS card it took a little bit because I colored the flowers and leaves separately and stamped them 5 times (one of those times is on the inside).  I grabbed the inside piece of  a butterfly stamp from the set  Garden in Bloom and stamped it because I needed a small butterfly.  I drew his body and antennae and to finish off the card I added tiny pearls to each of the flowers and two on each of the butterflies (which covered the body I had just put on the butterfly! lol).

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Sharing in Your Sorrow

Today over at Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday we have another great sketch for you.   As I was checking the sketch out to make my card I knew I needed to make a few sympathy cards.  These are always the hardest for me to make because I want them to be special and touch each person I send them to.  I have such a hard time writing what's in my heart.  Some people are so blessed with that gift and can just write away...not me!  That's one reason I like making cards...my feeling are expressed in what I create instead of what I say.  With that being said I created the same card, just used different base colors. I used the triple layer technique and just went with the tree scene on the outside.  I did sponge on one of the cards a bit just to see what it was like...and to cover up the fact that there was just a bit of empty space where the tree image didn't stamp as close as I had hoped. lol

Here is the sketch we used.  Make sure you head over to Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday HERE to see all the other cards the ladies created using this sketch.  Play along with us too.  We'd love to see what you create. :)

My card base color on this card is Early Espresso and I used retired cardstock Naturals White.

My card base color on this card is Soft Suede and I used retired card stock Naturals Ivory.

The card base color on my last card is Chocolate Chip and I used retired card stock Naturals White on this one too.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Get Well Soon

Hi Everyone...today I have a CAS card for you for this week's Friday Mashup Challenge brought to us by Lisa.  As a matter of fact I think this is the cleanest and simplest card I've made in a long time.  I guess I just didn't want to make a card that had too much on it since it is a Get Well card. :)  Oh, I can't forget to tell you what the challenge is...

Create a project using the above "Sketch".
Create a " Get Well" Project.
or Mash it Up and create a "Get Well project using the Sketch".

Make sure you check out what all the other designers made this week mashing up the sketch and "Get Well" HERE.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
