BOO!

Oops!!  So I totally forgot to post my card before I left on vacation to the Smoky Mountains!  Here I thought I was all set to go and I totally was NOT!  Today's card is inspired by the sketch at Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday challenge #242.  It also has the theme of "Boo or Eek!".  I decided to do both since I don't mind making one or two Halloween cards each year.

Boy did I have fun making this card.  I decided to make a huge moon on my card and use the banner for the sentiment, and of course put "Boo" in the bottom corner.  I used my brayer to get the colors on, then added the trees and extended the trunks so they weren't all the same size.  Next I did a little sponging on the moon so it wasn't quite so bright.  I stamped on the bats with black ink, but embossed the ghosts with white so they stood out. Make sure you check out the challenge from Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday HERE to see all the other great cards!  Not everyone did the theme since that is optional. :)  Show us how this week's sketch inspires you...we'd love to see it!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thinking of You with An Open Heart

I have a cute clean and simple card for you today using this weeks Try Stampin' - or not - on Tuesday sketch challenge #218.  I didn't quite follow the sketch since I put the sentiment at the bottom where the stars are at, but I just kept thinking of a window when I saw the sketch so I wanted to bring a little of the outdoors indoors.

Make sure you head over to Try Stampin' HERE to see all the other great cards by the design team.  I loved checking them out.  If you get a chance why don't you play along?  We'd love to see what you create with this sketch. :)

Just another quick pic.

Christmas Wishes

I have another fun card for you and since it's still winter out it might not seem too bad.  Yes, it's another Christmas card, but it could be a winter birthday or thinking of you card too. :)  I made this card for the next 'Tis the Season challenge and this week it's a sketch challenge.

You need to check out all the other cards made using this sketch HERE at 'Tis the Season.  They are all so different, but so fun!!  Play along with us too if you get that chance.  You'll be glad you did when you have your Christmas stash finished in plenty of time to send them out for Christmas.  Trust me...that's what I did and it was wonderful! :)

Believe it or not I really did incorporate the sketch on my card.  After I stamped the tree from the set Sheltering Tree I used the group of snowflakes from the set Holiday Home and stamped those before the rest of the snowflakes using a stamp from the set Gorgeous Grunge.  The snowflakes and tree are all stamped with VersaMark and embossed with White Stampin' Emboss powder.  Then I brayered over the embossed images first in Coastal Cabana, then Island Indigo, next Pacific Point and finally Night of Navy.  I spritzed it all with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz (mixed with rubbing alcohol) to give it a shimmer effect and it cleans all the ink of the parts of the card that were embossed in white.  The last thing I stamped was "Christmas" using Night of Navy on the bottom of the brayered sheet, then embossed more snowflakes and "wishes" on the bottom of a piece of Night of Navy.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
