Joyful Christmas

Today I have a couple of Christmas cards to show you that were inspired by the colors over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge...blue, cream and gold.  I didn't use the bright blue because I don't have a color quite like that so I pulled out my Island Indigo since I haven't used it in a while.  I also looked through all of my Christmas stamps and decided to use the retired set Joyful Christmas.  I haven't used it in a while either and thought the colors and set would make a couple of nice Christmas cards.

I was going to make two of the same cards, but after making the first one I had another idea pop into my head so it's two different cards using the same colors.  They were pretty simple to make other than the fussy cutting and even that didn't take too long.  I stamped 3 leaves on Island Indigo with VersaMark, covered them in gold embossing powder, used my heat gun and cut them out.  I did the same with the "flower" petals on Very Vanilla.  I colored my pearls with a Blendabilities marker that happened to be just the color I needed (not sure what color it actually was though!).  I attached the flower with dimensionals and the leaves with glue dots.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Joyful Christmas!

Anyone out there ready for Christmas?  No?  Me either!  I'm still waiting for the warm weather we were promised here in Michigan.  Let's see if we get it today. lol  Even though I'm not ready for Christmas I'm definitely ready to make more Christmas cards!  I haven't been keeping up my pace though. :(  I'm supposed to be making four of each of the cards I post on here and haven't done it in a while.  I need to get busy!  Speaking of getting busy, 'Tis the Season is getting busy teaming up with the Jingle Belles for our next challenge.  'Tis the Season's challenge is a sketch challenge and Jingle Belles is "Bling".  Perfect combination if you ask me...and I've heard the word PRIZES. :)  There will be a prize offered on 'Tis the Season and on Jingle Belles.  The twist is in order to be eligible you have to do both challenges.  No problem with that, right?!

I used the sketch a little loosely because my flower is so big, but I love how it turned out.  I also used the traditional red and green Christmas colors.  I don't think I've those colors much on my cards if I've even done it at all.  Oh, I can't forget about my bling...the gold embossing adds a little bit, but I scored some of my card stock and put pearls on my card.  I've seen it done here and there, but have never tried it myself.  Guess I can check that off my list, but I'm sure I'll be doing it again some time.  Don't forget to head on over to 'Tis the Season and the Jingle Belles to see all the great designers' cards and to play along too.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Joyful Christmas

Today's cards are for another 'Tis The Season challenge and this week it's a color challenge with the option of using twine.  I must say this was a hard group of colors to work with for me because they are not traditional Christmas colors at all!  I'm pretty satisfied with what I came up with though.  I hope you enjoy them too.  Don't forget to check out what the other designers made HERE at 'Tis the Season and see what you can come up with using these colors. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
