Christmas Sprig ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Project

Today's post is a bit different than normal.
It has more than a card and it's leaning a bit toward Christmas.
Yes, I know it's a bit early for Christmas, but I'm creating a project for
something special and thinking ahead...for once!

Morning Glory ~ With Fun Stampers Journey

Today I have a small, but fun card to show you.  I'm sure many of you are familiar with Splitcoast Stampers right?  On Wednesdays they have a technique that is shared and this past Wednesday it was a technique called Duoprinting with Chlorophyll.  Check out the instructions and video HERE.  Since I'm a bit of a nature lover myself I HAD to give it a try!  I whipped out a bunch and hope to share some of the cards I've created with them in the coming weeks.

I made this little 3x3 as a thank you for my upline for being so generous. :)

As you can see below my morning glory sample didn't turn out the greatest.  That's because it's a juicy, wet plant.  I loved how it looked other than all the green blobs so I decided to use just a portion of the reverse of this sample so I didn't have to throw it all away.  Can you tell what part of the other sample I used?

I used watercolor paper when I did the technique and added a bit of Liquid Color in Lovely Blue to create the sky and to add just a bit of color.  I used the new Corrugated Board embossing folder from Fun Stampers Journey on the Pool Play piece of card stock so it wasn't quite so plain.

Sentimental Prints Christmas Thank You ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

It's that time of year...time to write some thank yous!  My hubby works for the USPS as a rural mail carrier.  Let's just say that he is BUSY (has been since September) and when people take the time to give him a gift on his mail route he really appreciates it!  And the ever loving wife that I am (who also happens to makes cards) has to help him out with that right?  Plus I get the benefit of all of his goodies too so I suppose I can sacrifice a little! ;)  Every year I whip up a handful of cards and for the past few years I've been making 3x3 cards.

I just can't resist the Bloom Benefits called Pretty Flakes Accents!  I LOVE these snowflakes, so it's a good thing I earned a LOT of them!  I actually had enough to put them on my hot chocolate project from my November open house, on two sets of stamp a stack cards for December and all of these 3x3 cards.  Love that I get Bloom Benefits for every $50 that I spend with Fun Stampers Journey! :)

I think I made about 47 of these small cards.  Usually I have a LOT of gifts on hand before I get them done, but this year I've been ahead of the game...yea me! :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Remarkable You!

Happy Monday, Everyone!  Today I have a short post of a very simple 3x3 card you can make using the stamp set Remarkable You.  I needed a quick thank you for my upline since she was generous enough to let me borrow her thinlits and framelits for my February stamp a stacks.

I stamped the flower using Archival Basic Black ink, cut it out and sponged the whole flower with Crushed Curry, then sponged the tips with Watermelon Wonder.  One last bit of sponging on the stem using Garden Green.

Wonderland Thank You

Today I want to show you a bunch of 3x3 thank yous that I made...52 to be exact!  My hubby is a rural mail carrier, so when he gets a gift from someone on his mail route I want to be sure to send a thank you note.  They are always saying thank you for the great service, but we want them to know we appreciate them thinking of him at Christmas!

I got the idea for these beautiful cards from a fellow demonstrator and couldn't resist using them (just making them smaller) because I love the colors and the sparkle!  I'm not sure if it's her original idea or not, but I'll give her the credit until I know otherwise. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Endless Thank You Wishes

Just a quick post with a bunch of little 3x3 cards today.  I used the Christmas set Endless Wishes, An Open Heart for the Thank You, and the Encore gold and silver ink pads to create this card.  Pretty simple to do. :)  Now on to the reason why I made these...every year my hubby gets gifts on his route from his customers, and we're so thankful for each and every one!  I'm not much of a writer, but I always want them to know how thankful we are that he was on their mind during the holidays. :)

Hello, Baby

Happy Friday!  Today I have another fun card for you from the Friday Mashup challenge.  This week's challenge is from Lisa, so let's take a look...

Create a Project using "Animals".
Create a "Shaker card" project.
or Mash it up! and create a "Shaker Card with an Animal".

I decided to make a small baby card for a friend's daughter's baby shower and used all retired stamps for it! lol  I love the set Fox and Friends from Stampin' Up! and just can't get rid of it because it makes such cute baby cards, just wish the pic turned out better.  I'm sure some of you have a few sets out there that you just don't want to get rid of too. :)

If you've never made a shaker card here's you chance.  It's not too hard to do and the results are so cute! :)  Make sure you head over to the Friday Mashup HERE to get some inspiration from the design team and play along too.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thank You Stars

It's time for another Friday Mashup challenge and this week challenge is from Lisa.  Her challenge for us is...

Create a project with "Stars."
Create a set of "Thank you Cards with Matching Envelopes".
Or Mash it Up and create a set of "Thank you Cards & Envelopes using Stars."

Believe it or not I hardly have any stamps with stars on them.  I had to dig through my sets and found one in a sale-a-bration set Banner Blast.  I've been seeing a lot of cards made using this set, but they all use the banner.  Not me since I'm all about stars today. lol  I decided to make 3x3 cards since I think they're so cute and if I don't use them myself I can give them away as a gift for someone else to use. :)

Don't forget to check out what the other designers made HERE, and to play along if you get the chance!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thanks So Much

I'm finally back to blogging after taking a bit of a much needed break.  I've still been making plenty of cards, I just haven't been taking pics of all of them or posting them.  I did take some pics that I want to show you today though.  These are the cards I made as thanks yous for the gifts my husband received on his mail route this year.  I wanted to make cards that were small and simple.  Well, they were small, but not as simple as I had hoped.  Not that they were that hard to make either, just a bit of coloring.  I think I made about thirty-two of them...and managed to get all the thank yous written too...whew!!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Open House Mini Cards

Wow, what a week it's been for me!  After prepping for and having an eight hour open house this past Thursday, helping my daughter sew curtains on Friday and losing our electricity for most of Saturday (and getting pretty much nothing done!) I'm finally back to blogging.  I thought I'd show you one of the crafts the ladies made at my open house.  They made four 3x3 cards uisng 2012-2014 In Color DSP and made a little box to put them in.  The box was made with the Stampin' Up! Envelope Punch Board.  Love that thing.  It's so easy to make boxes using it!

Here's how I made the box to put the cards in...

Cut your paper 6" x 6".  Using the Envelope Punch Board punch and score at 2 11/16" (between 2 5/8" and 2 3/4").  Then punch and score again at 3 1/4".  Cut out the corners on the top like show in the picture and snip the bottom so you still have tabs.  Fold and glue or tape together.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

RHSSC - Elegant Butterfly & Bitty Butterfly

Happy Sunday, Everyone.  It's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge card.  I needed to make a card for a bridal shower and that's how this card started.  I didn't like the top of the card without anything because it seemed so plain.  So I sponged the ribbon with Pool Party and added it to the card even though it wasn't a part of the sketch.  After all that work I decided not to use this one for the shower card and made a 3x3 card using the same colors instead. lol  Don't forget to check out what the other Red Hot Stampers made using this sketch.  If you're up to it why not join our challenge and let us see what you came up.  Check it all out HERE.

Pillow Gifts for Convention

I sure don't know how some ladies can post on their blogs everyday.  All I know is they are a LOT better than me!  Anyway, today's post is all about pillow gifts for convention because that's where I'm headed! :)  I put together four 3x3 cards with envelopes and some Ghirardelli chocolates for everyone.  Do you remember on Sunday I said you'd see a lot of the stamp set Field Flowers this week?  I wasn't kidding...and you'll still be seeing more.  At least today's cards use the new in colors. :)

Pretty Papillon Potpourri

These cute little 3x3 cards and small box were another thing I made to feature paper-piercing using the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack.  I guess you really can't see the paper-piercing unless you click on the pic so it comes up bigger, but it outlines the butterflies.  I was also looking through the "Less is More" challenge and these fit the category this week...keep it clean and simple, and frame it!  The little "frames" are easy to make using two square punches.

I had to add more than one pic to get a few different views of the cards. :)

Today's card was a snap to make. I needed a quick gift card for a bridal shower at church and since I finally bought the Love and Laughter stamp set I quickly put it to use.  Just a 3x3 card layered with a slightly smaller piece embossed with two stamps then spritzed with shimmer paint and attached with dimensionals.

Mini Blooming with Kindness

Today's mini cards were inspired by my Red Hot Stamper card that I posted on Sunday.  I needed a bunch of 3x3 cards for thank yous and thought, "Why not use the same set and colors since you have them out anyway?"  So I did, and simplified them a lot!  I just used an ink pad and shimmer paint instead of versa mark with the ink pad and clear embossing powder...and skipped the cutting too! :)
