Hello Fall ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Who doesn't love the colors that fall brings?
Most of us do and I had to create another fall card while the season is here.
I started following a new sketch challenge FB group called Journey Sketches and couldn't resist creating this quick and simple thank you card.  Plus I needed a card for my October stamp a stacks and this sketch was perfect for whipping up a card!
There are so many ways to color leaves, but for this card I used three different ink colors from Fun Stampers Journey (listed below).  I used sponges to dab the color onto the stamp starting with the lightest and dabbing it all over the stamp.  Then I added the second color and dabbed it around the edges making sure I left some yellow in the middle.  The last and darkest color I dabbed just around the edges of the stamp.  Does that make sense?  I hope so!  After I cut out the leaf (with a die, of course!) I spritzed it with Sparkle Silk that was mixed with 70% rubbing alcohol to make it shimmer all over.  My camera just didn't want to pick that up this time...bummer! lol

Oatmeal Cookie

Poinsettia Burst ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today's card is inspired by Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday's sketch challenge #343.
The optional theme is Leaves.  I think it was meant for fall leaves, but since I was working on a bunch of Christmas cards this weekend this is what I came up with. :)

Join the Journey!

I have a second post for you today.  :)
Have you ever thought about joining Fun Stampers Journey?
If so boy does FSJ have a deal for you!!

When I joined I got the Journey Platinum Die Cutting Machine and wasn't sure what to think about it.  Let me tell you I love it!  It's a great machine and I don't ever need to cut my 8 1/2" x 11" card stock to run it through.  When prepping a LOT of cards a month for classes it sure comes in handy.  No extra cutting and less waste of paper when using my dies.

Go to my website www.funstampersjourney.com/sarahoogendoorn
If you have any questions please contact me!
I'm here to help all of my friends, customers and down line if you need it.

FSJ is also running a special for the month - Make Your Mark!

Love Paris ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today's card is one of my September Stamp a Stack cards.  It was simple to create and can be used for more than one occasion so I didn't put a sentiment on the front of the card. :)

Journey Birthday 2017 ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today's card is a little different than my norm, but I needed a card for my nephew that was turning 11. That's a hard age to make cards for!
What do you think? I thought this set that Richard gives to each of his coaches for their birthday would be perfect though. :)

Wonderful Day ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today's card is a pretty clean and simple one and was inspired by sketch #335 from Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday.  I had the ladies at my August stamp a stacks make this card and they seemed to like it. :)

This is the sketch from TSOT.  Make sure you head over to the blog HERE to check out all the great cards the designers made using this sketch.  And if you get a chance to play along we'd love to see what you create!

This was a pretty simple card to make other than the fussy cutting!  That only took a couple of minutes though.  It does involve some coloring.  I used Fun Stampers Journey's Color Burst Pencils, then blended them with baby oil and a color burst blender (blending stump). The ladies really seemed to like this technique! :D

Whip Cream
Rich Coral
Black Licorice

Summer Rose ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

I have another card to share with you today using the stamp set Summer Rose.  I sent today's card out to anyone who placed an order. :)  I'll be sharing the same card with you tomorrow that everyone will be making at my August Stamp a Stacks.  One twist with that card...it's in neutral colors.  I'm not sure which card I like better.  I love the colors on today's card, but I also love the soft look of the card I'll be posting tomorrow.

This card was inspired by Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday's sketch challenge #331.  You can only play this particular challenge on FB this time around (HERE).  The next challenge has resumed as normal (HERE).  Here is the sketch #331

Espresso Swirls ~ Fun Stampers Journey Cards

Well I looked at my blog today and realized I hadn't posted in a while!  I have plenty of pictures of different cards I've created, but I've been a bit lazy about the posting part.  I have one picture today of a group of cards that I created as thank yous for a few ladies.  Now I need to make sure I get them sent out!!

Isn't this a cute stamp?!
Once I saw this stamp as one of the new Bloom Benefits in the FSJ 2017 - 2018 Inspiration Book & Catalog (spend $50 before tax and shipping and get it for free!) I had an idea going through my head and couldn't wait to get it onto paper. :)

Bubble Gum
Pool Play
Catalina Splash
Pretty Amethyst
Candy Apple
Fresh Forest

I used the new Liquid Ink to watercolor it all in after I embossed the image in white.  Yes, I actually used the red and green...I needed brown! :)   Just in case you can't read the sentiment it says "words can't espresso" and on the inside it says "how much you bean to me".  How fun is that?!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Beauty Blooms ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today's card is a special card because I made it for my sister's birthday. :)
I did a bit of watercolor (OK a LOT of watercolor) to create this card.  It took a bit longer than I thought, but I love how it turned out. :D

I'm patiently waiting for FSJ new Liquid Colors that I ordered, but until they arrive I'll stick with my splashes.  That's what I used on this card.  The image is embossed in white and then painted in.  I did one petal at a time by adding water first, then painting with Pineapple Smoothie color splash and last I added a bit of Sweet Berry Color Splash.  Each petal turned out differently and I liked the look of that. I also put sparkle silk on each of the petals to give them a bit of shimmer. :)  The leaves were pretty easy.  They are mostly embossed and I added a mixture of Sour Lemon and Lemon Grass Color Splash.  I didn't wipe the color off the embossed leaves because I wanted them to stay green.  The last thing I did was add the blue for the sky using Cool Pool Color Splash.  Simple right? lol  Not quite, but I just keep plugging away at it because I love the look of watercolor. :)

Sweet Berry
Pineapple Smoothie
Sour Lemon
Lemon Grass
Cool Pool

Morning Glory ~ With Fun Stampers Journey

Today I have a small, but fun card to show you.  I'm sure many of you are familiar with Splitcoast Stampers right?  On Wednesdays they have a technique that is shared and this past Wednesday it was a technique called Duoprinting with Chlorophyll.  Check out the instructions and video HERE.  Since I'm a bit of a nature lover myself I HAD to give it a try!  I whipped out a bunch and hope to share some of the cards I've created with them in the coming weeks.

I made this little 3x3 as a thank you for my upline for being so generous. :)

As you can see below my morning glory sample didn't turn out the greatest.  That's because it's a juicy, wet plant.  I loved how it looked other than all the green blobs so I decided to use just a portion of the reverse of this sample so I didn't have to throw it all away.  Can you tell what part of the other sample I used?

I used watercolor paper when I did the technique and added a bit of Liquid Color in Lovely Blue to create the sky and to add just a bit of color.  I used the new Corrugated Board embossing folder from Fun Stampers Journey on the Pool Play piece of card stock so it wasn't quite so plain.

Butter Cream
Cool Pool

Snappy Birthday ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Yes, it's the 4th of July here in the U.S. but I ended up creating a birthday card for today's post that was inspired by Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday's sketch challenge #329.  My daughter likes blue and orange together, so she got it on her b-day card.  Not sure what she thought of it.  I never asked. lol

Make sure you check out what the other designers created HERE.  If you get a chance to play along I'd love to see what you create! :)
